Dr. Vinod Nair, Holistic Well-being & Healing Expert

I am a wellness expert and medical doctor in integrative holistic medicine and health from Kerala, India.

My unique approach blends traditional eastern and western diagnostic and therapeutic methods, naturopathic and Ayurvedic medicine, meditation and yoga. I specialize in giving nutritional advice, cleansing and detox, yoga theory and practice, mindfulness, kalari, meditation and chakra alignment and adapt the programme for each individual as needed.

I am convinced that there is a natural healer within every individual. The naturopathy medicine I practice recognizes the inherent self-healing capacity of the body and provides a conducive environment to nurture the healer within and in harmony with nature. Caring and curing is aided through natural elements and healing is holistic – touching the mental, physical, social and spiritual planes of well-being.

I was until recently a resident senior wellness expert for integrated holistic medicine and yoga, at the world-famous Como Shambhala Estate in Bali. Previously, I was a Senior Doctor and Department Head at the well-recognized wellness and yoga retreat, SwaSwara in Gokarna, India (a unit of CGH Earth Group). I also worked as a medical expert in the Kalari Ayurveda Marma Hospital and as a medical officer at the School of Ayurveda, Yoga and Panchakarma, and Anjali Holistic Medical Center in Kerala.

I practice the original martial art of Kalaripayattu, the first martial art form, considered among the oldest and most scientific martial arts in the world – which is all about fluid movements, inner peace and strength in harmony with nature.

I grew up in Kerala, surrounded by Ayurvedic practice and have deep roots in the culture and practice of the region. My grandfather was a spiritual guru, accompanying pilgrims on their spiritual preparations.

My art of healing is rooted in the wisdom of many cultures and based on years of evidence and experience, adapted for the challenges of modern times. I generally focus on health promotive, disease preventive, curative and restorative approaches.

I believe that it is important to find out and treat the root cause of the illness, and not merely the symptoms that manifest as diseases. I practice the kind of healing where the physical, mental and emotional aspects of the body are repaired and rejuvenated. I also strongly advocate maintaining the overall well-being of a person, which is an integral part of my practice.

I studied integrated holistic medicine at the Medical College of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences under the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, India.

What I Do?

Bliss comes when one is at one with the inner real nature of an individual.

Each individual  is unique and I therefore approach each person in a way adapted to their specific  nature and requirements at that time. For this reason, I first carry out an initial integrative holistic medical consultation before proposing a specific programme.

For this consultation, I use different diagnostic techniques such as facial, Ayurvedic body constitution, pulse, iris and tongue diagnosis along with relevant western diagnostics. This information provides me with what I need to increase the resilience and wellbeing of the person or to bring the person and their body and mind back to a well- balanced and blissful state.

I believe that stress, long working hours, poor eating habits, a sedentary lifestyle and too little time for mindfull living  can all hinder the body’s natural ability to heal itself. Strengthening and facilitating the body’s self-healing process can for example help people solve problems with weight, moods, backs, sugar levels in blood and many other challenges in body and mind.

I offer yoga sessions through skype or in workshops, detox cleansing and diet plans and meditative Kalari-yoga (a traditional psycho-physiological discipline originating in Kerala, India and considered to be the oldest form of physical training in human history) retreats worldwide.

My clients testify they experience deep relaxation, happiness and bliss and become highly motivated to further their practice and or improve their life style habits.
